One Day in Brunei

Redah ajelah huhuhu.

His Majesty's Sultan Brunei Birthday Celebrations 2015

About 12 days before the main celebration, preparations continue for His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 69th Birthday Celebration. Drive in Bandar Seri Begawan and you will see the capital decorated with arches. The colourful structures add interest and beauty to the city.
One such arch straddles the main road between the Ministry of Home Affairs Building and the main Post Office. Billboards stand at strategic locations portraying pictures of His Majesty and special 'doa or supplications for the Monarch. One such 'doa says, 'Allah Lanjutkan Usia Baginda Dalam Iman dan Takwa' literally meaning 'May Allah bestow longevity with faith and piety to His Majesty." Starting yesterday the National Flag, flags of Pengirans and titled persons fly at government, business and private premises in conjunction with the Monarch's birthday celebrations.
When night comes, streets are more beautiful, with coloured neon lights making them brighter, adding to it a joyful atmosphere. Every year during the celebratory season, government agencies and private firms collaborate to spruce up Bandar Seri Begawan and surrounding areas. The country is at its liveliest during His Majesty's birthday celebrations. The colourful capital and other towns become more exciting, interesting and merrier, attracting not only locals but also foreign tourists.
